Day 36 – 31st July 2016

I had a specific objective for today’s morning hike – to complete the last remaining short sections of accessible public footpath that I have so far not covered. There were several on the north east, west and south of Bredon Hill that I’ve now ‘ticked off’. That leaves three other short paths that are not currently accessible due to their being covered by crops; and one section to which access is totally blocked.

It transpires that for each of my images today I prefer the monochrome treatment.

Day 35 – 27th July 2016

More of a stroll today than a hike, albeit for about 4 hours starting around 2:30pm. I spent much of the time photographing ‘things’ or small scenes and micro-landscapes that I found rather than panoramas and vistas. I photographed several promising crop fields with tractor tracks – but only one seemed to work this time. And I spent ages trying to compose a satisfying thistle picture.

Day 34 – 20th July 2016

My evening walk at the end of a very warm day promised a fine sunset. But as the 9:16pm sunset time approached the clouds increased allowing only a brief glimpse of the sun just before it set. Two minutes after the official time of sunset the full moon rose – the first since it rose on the summer solstice a month ago [Day 29 – 20th June]. Most of my photographs from this walk are crop related – either still growing or harvesting or harvested.

Day 33 – 17th July 2016

I planned my route for this morning’s hike around the lower slopes of Bredon Hill’s north west corner to fill in some of my remaining few sections of as yet unhiked public footpaths. It didn’t provide me with any landscape photographs of note, but there were several other opportunities on a smaller scale to work with.

Day 32 – 6th July 2016

My evening walk was under a veil of thin high cloud which provided soft even light – until about 10 minutes before sunset at 9:29pm when it broke up to the north west sufficiently to allow through a short bust of beautiful sunbeams. I found my first wild orchids of the year – many pyramidal (?) orchids dotted about in a hay meadow.
